Son of God vs Physical Sameness

Christianity can be confusing, especially when it comes to what "son" is supposed to mean concerning Jesus. Let's say right now that "son" in this case isn't like humans have a male offspring they call son. It's something entirely different, and we have to use the language of the time to understand this.

According to Strong's Concordance, the Greek word "huios" (translated "son") can mean literal son or likeness of the believer to the heavenly Father. Since we have an abundance of Biblical verses that attest to Jesus' likeness, sameness and equality to the Father, using "huios" in this context is a more plausible scenario.

What does this do for the concept of the Trinity?

Jesus being the actual son of God, or rather the physical image (Colossians 1:15) of the invisible/unseen Father (John 4:24, John 1:18) has no bearing on whether the Trinity is real. “Son” (“huios” in Greek) can denote “representation or sameness” which is what the Bible and Jesus claim is the case.

The word “Son” and phrase “son of God”, the latter being a common Jewish phrase used in the time many of the Bible stories were written (since many believers called themselves “sons of God”) throws people off and is good fodder to attempt to monkeywrench the whole Trinity, but we’re really dealing with semantics here. Don't let the naysayers use a misunderstanding to dissuade you.

Remember: Jesus is the tangible aspect of God and part of His triune nature. "Son" means physical sameness of an invisible Father.

FROM THE OLD TESTAMENT...

Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, and the one who formed you from the womb, “I, the Lord, am the maker of all things, Stretching out the heavens by Myself And spreading out the earth all alone," - Isaiah 44:24

...FROM THE NEW TESTAMENT...

Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. - John 1:3

For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. - Colossians 1:16

Both passages say the Lord (ie. JESUS) made all things. In fact, all of the above passages attest to the truth that Jesus is the physical manifestation of the unseen God.

God didn't send His offspring to earth to die on the cross, He sent Himself.
