Consumables

About Halloween.

Satan didn’t invent it. If anyone did, it’s Spider-Man, pirates, or cats, since those are the costumes we see the most.

Or maybe it was dentists so they’d get a lot more patients in November.

Candy companies figured out in the 1950s that trick-or-treating was a sweet marketing opportunity, and we’ve been filling plastic pumpkins ever since.

Maybe they’re all in on it.

But no one is thinking about fallen angels on this day but you, despite internet chatter or what your one church friend said.
There may be a whole history hiding between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2. God creates the heavens and the Earth, but in the next verse the Earth “was” formless and void, and the Hebrew word translated “was” can also mean “became.” So did it BECOME void? Maybe the angelic fall happened in that gap and the Earth became a wasteland. Then God's Spirit hovers over the waters to kickstart things again. Interestingly, Psalm 104 describes God sending His Spirit to “renew the face of the ground.” Maybe this is Round Two.
